Description

Plagnet : he signed here the most beautiful panther of the 1930s, this is our opinion, and yet we know very little about him, except that his sister Marguerite (1887-1982) married another great animal sculptor, Maximilien Fiot (1886-1953). His creations : felines, cervids and greyhounds in particular, are all represented moving naturally. Protruding musculature, tense posture. The result is sculptures of extraordinary strength. Especially since he often puts them on a trapezoidal terrace, whose slope accentuates the dynamics. A highly sought-after work by French Art Deco specialists.
